Children's Ministry

Where young hearts learn to know and love God

Sunday school provides an enjoyable opportunity for children to engage and learn about God on Sunday mornings. All children age 3 through 5th grade meet at 9:30 am for “Gathering Time”.  Prayer, offering, sharing of God sightings, celebration of birthdays, welcoming of visitors and general announcements happen followed by a 20 minute bible video with Q & A time. The children then break into their rotation groups (Pre-k 2nd & 3rd 5th) and head off to crafts, games or other another activity such as music or service project. Children spend 15 minutes in that “center” and then rotate to the next.  All rotations are tied to the day’s biblical story and aim to keep the kiddos connected to the lesson, grow in God’s word, and build strong friendships at the same time.

Vacation Bible School is offered for a week during the summer to 4 year olds through 5th graders.  Each day includes music, snacks, craft, bible lesson, and games. This fun filled spiritual adventure teaches in an exciting format and allows the children of St. Andrew and the community to get to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, equip them to follow in His footsteps, and form bonds with other children as well as our many spirit filled volunteers.

Special Events are planned throughout the year for children and families.  Some of these celebrations include: Sunday school Kick-off, First Communion, Jesus’ Birthday Party, Children’s Christmas Program, First Bible, Easter Egg Hunt & Brunch, and more. These events are designed to rejoice in our faith, reach out to the community,

as well as strengthen our relationships with one another.

Children’s Activity Time is a part of our 10:45 Contemporary Worship. The children start in the sanctuary with their parents experiencing the beginning of the service together.  Pre-k - 2nd grade then leave after the Children’s sermon with High School Activity Time Leaders for coloring, crafts, or a movie. Children return after the sermon to partake in communion and participate in the remainder of the worship.

Wiggle Bucket is a container located just outside the main sanctuary doors filled with quiet items for young children. These activities allow the children to listen and actively participate in worshiping the Lord, but also give them

something to do during those "wiggle" moments.
